Abstract

451,806. Mudguards. PARKER, W. H., and YAPP, W. J., c/o National Belting Co., Wennington Road, Rainham, Essex. June 29,1935, Nos. 18690 and 19367. [Class 136 (i)] A resilient mudguard or wing for road vehicles comprises in combination a strip a of rubber, rubber composition, &c., preferably reinforced internally with fabric or wire netting'and bent into the required shape to form the top of the guard, and a depending rubber &c. side strip b, which forms a splash-arresting flange, and is secured to a flange d on the strip a, as by means of rivets e. The upper edge of the side strip b engages in a recess between the flange d and another flange c. To the inner edge of the strip a is secured, by a resilient strip h and rivets l, a rubber &c. strip j, preferably also reinforced, and adapted to form a valance by which the mudguard is secured to the vehicle.
