Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 25, 1934]. [Class 38 (ii)] The control voltages in an inverter employing discharge devices are obtained from condensers connected between points in the main circuit and the grids. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the grid voltages are obtained from crossconnected condensers and resistances 15, 16 and 17, 18. A switch 19 is provided to facilitate starting. With this arrangement rapid deionization is obtained. In a modification the resistances 17, 18 are connected between the grids and the positive D.C. lead. In further modifications the condensers are connected between the grid and cathodes and are charged through auxiliary rectifiers. Fig. 7 shows a series type inverter in which each grid is connected to the cathode through a condenser 28 and to the anode through a rectifier 27.
