Abstract
445,418. Converting. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London. Oct. 2, 1934, No. 28192. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1933. [Class 38 (ii)] In a parallel-type inverter comprising valves 1, 2, 3 and transformer 4, 5, 6, in addition to the normal commutating condensers 7, 8, 9 commutating potentials are injected in the anode circuits to extend the period during which the anode voltage of the valves is negative. In the form shown each anode lead contains a current transformer 13 which is supplied from a current transformer 12 in the cathode lead of an adjacent valve. When current starts in the valve 2 a commutating impulse is injected in the anode lead of the valve 1. A resistance 15 and condenser 14 may be connected in the circuit between the current transformers to cause phase lag of the impulse.
