435,742. Card-roller mounting-machines. DAVIS & FURBER MACHINE CO., Water Street, North Andover, Massachusetts, U.S.A. April 10, 1935, No. 11100. Convention date, Nov. 22, 1934. [Class 120 (i)] In a machine for applying a fillet of card clothing to a cylinder such as used in carding-engines a controller yieldingly held against the fillet as it passes to the cylinder is arranged to effect a compensating change in the frictional retardation of the fillet upon any variation in the winding - tension. As shown, the invention is applied to a Dronsfield card-roller mounting - machine and the lever 13, which engages the fillet and is connected with tensioning-springs 23 and tension indicator 25, is arranged so that upon movement consequent upon variation in tension a wedge 19 is moved between the adjusting screw 20 and friction plate 18 of the feed-box tension apparatus in compensation.
