Compensating for wear.- Brake segments 1, 2 adapted to be engaged with a drum by means of a cam 4 are each adjustable for wear by a pin 10 screwing into the end of the segment and having an eccentric part 9 which bears against one end of a rod 5 slidably mounted in the part 13 of the segment and bearing at its other end upon the pivot 3. The clearance between the segments and the drum can thus be varied by turning the pin 10.
