Abstract

160,418. Jagoe, J. W. Dec. 13, 1920. Adjusting for wear.-A connecting-rod for internal-combustion engines &c. is provided with an adjustable bearing-block 14 sliding between spaced arms 12 and adjusted to take up wear in the brasses 15, 16 by a nut 22 screwing on a stud 20 lying in a central cavity in the block. Bolts 21 pass laterally through the parts, the block 14 having elongated holes 19 for this purpose. The faces of the arms 12 and block 14 are tapered lengthways as shown, and have also a double taper at each side as indicated at 13. One arm 12 has an oil passage terminating in a dipper 23 and the other is formed with an oil-cup 24 and passage 25.
