Abstract

431,396. Oil engines. LAGARRIGUE, E. M. J. DE, 40, Rue FerrÚre, Bordeaux, France. Jan. 5, 1934, No. 442. Convention date, Jan. 5, 1933. [Class 7 (iii)] Fuel is injected from a nozzle 4 through a flared passage 4<a> into an opening in one side of a removable combustion chamber 1 which is in open communication with the cylinder and has a curved upper part 5<a>. The chamber is secured in the head by a plug 10, and is provided with a recess 9 to reduce heat transference and a recess 12 for a sparking-plug. The surface of the chamber may be formed with a quarter ellipsoidal or spherical surface 5<a> which merges into a cylindrical surface 5b or it may be thimble-shaped or of half-cylindrical or partly spherical form. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes a cylindrical combustion chamber 1 formed in the head, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), and a chamber having two parallel flat faces 14 of the shape shown in Fig. 9 (Cancelled), one of which may contain an inlet or exhaust valve 13. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
