430,670. Cleaning boilers. SOC. ANON. DES CHANTIER ET ATELIERS DE ST. NAZAIRE PENHOET, 7, Rue Auber, Paris. Dec. 29, 1933, No. 36640. Convention date, Dec. 2. [Class 99 (ii)] The tubes 1 of a fire-tube boiler are cleaned by steam from blower tubes 2 which branch from steam headers 14 and project into the tubes 1. The outlet end 3 of each blower tube is closed but is provided with steam discharge slits 5 which are obliquely disposed relatively to the longitudinal axis of the tube, preferably at an angle of 45‹, and are arranged non-symmetrically with respect to the vertical plane passing through said axis. Cleaning steam is supplied to each header 14 in succession from a distributing chest 7 provided with an inlet 11 and outlets 13.
