Abstract
421,164. Electromagnets. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. July 17, 1934, No. 20955. Convention date, July 21, 1933. [Class 35] In order that an electromagnet of the type described in Specification 290,208, [Class 35], may be used with a formerwound coil without a spool, channel members are provided forming guides for the armature and having resilient ends to grip the coil. The side portions of these members 22, 23 are formed with bent-out ends 27, 28 to grip the faces 20, 201 of the magnet core, and the members are secured at the other end by a pin 34 passing through holes 34, 36 in the members 22, 23 and a hole 44 in the frame and core of the magnet. The ends 29, 37 of the members 22, 23 are bent over as shown and, when in position, grip the end of the coil 14.
