Abstract
415,425. Pipe joints. BAINES, C. W., 64, Redcliffe Road, Carrington, Nottingham, and STANTON IRONWORKS CO., Ltd., Stanton-by-Dale, Derbyshire. Jan. 24, 1933, No. 2281. [Class 99 (i).] In an overlap joint in which a resilient sealing ring is compressed radially within an annular recess on assembly, the ring d is shaped to fit closely within the recess initially and receives compression on a portion d<1> which projects radially from the recess. The recess is preferably of triangular form, is near the mouth of the socket or sleeve, and has a radial face c<1> remote from the mouth of the socket. The spigot has a curved taper at b<1> to facilitate assembly.
