Abstract
An alloy for magnetic purposes consists of iron with about 0,5-16 per cent of silicon and about 0,5-16 per cent of aluminium, the sum of the aluminium and silicon being not less than 7,5 per cent, with or without less than a total of 8 per cent of one or more of the metals manganese, chromium, vanadium, and titanium, each less than 2 per cent. The alloy may be annealed at about 1000 DEG C., and cooled slowly.
