Abstract
410,415. Rubber threads. INTERNATIONAL LATEX PROCESSES, Ltd., 10, Lefebvre Street, St. Peter's Port, Guernsey. Nov. 14, 1933, Nos. 31686, 31687, 31688, and 31689. Convention dates, Nov. 18, 1932. [Class 70.] Rubber thread is made by introducing latex into a coagulant by way of a support or backing surface an end of which is beneath the surface of the coagulant, and removing the length of coagulum produced. As shown, Fig. 1 latex is streamed through pipes 13 on to rods 14 dipping into coagulant. Thread is withdrawn from the ends of the rod through the coagulant and on to a travelling belt 23. In a further method, Fig. 6, latex is fed to the surface of rotating disc 65 and flows into the U-shaped flange extending below the surface of the coagulant. whence it is drawn over roller 74 by travelling belt 75. In other apparatus, not shown, rotating discs with flat or grooved edges are used. The term latex designates broadly coagulable dispersions of elastic materials. Specification 400,846 is referred to.
