Abstract
409,852. Opening preserve tins &c. AKTIEBOLAGET TRANSITORIA, 37, Birger Jarlsgatan, Stockholm. Jan. 23, 1933, No. 2129. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1932. [Class 66.] An opener 5 is attached to a part 4<a> of a wall of a preserve tin &c., limited by a weakening line 4, by means of a rivet 8, and is adapted to be turned about the rivet into the position shown in dotted lines, the opener being raised slightly to effect the turning movement in order to clear the part 4 and the seamed edge 10, so weakening the connection of the strip to the remainder of the wall along the part of the line 4 adjacent to the rivet ; from this position the opener is pulled upwardly and backwardly in the direction of the arrow, Fig. 2, tearing out the strip 4<a>. The head of the rivet, at the underside of the wall, is of relatively large diameter and may be formed with a shallow recess in which indiarubber &c. packing is inserted.
