Abstract
406,138. Aircraft &c. wind-defecting screens. PETTERS, Ltd., and DAVENPORT, A., Westland Works, Yeovil, Somerset. March 27, 1933, No. 9152. [Class 4.] In a high-speed vehicle or craft such as aircraft having two cockpits disposed in line one behind the other, a readilydetachable and laterallyadjustable curved windscreen d is provided in front of the rear cockpit. Two brackets f are secured to the screen and to a stiffening member e reinforcing the lower end of the screen, claws g on the lower front ends of the brackets engaging the projecting portion h of a ring at the front edge of the cockpit while the lower ends of spring-pulled levers k engage the vertical portion j of the ring. The brackets are shaped to form handles m enabling the screen to be moved by applying thumb. pressure to the ends n of the levers k.
