428,896. Aircraft &c. windscreens. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd., Cranford Lane, Hayes, Middlesex, and TIPS, E. O., 434, Chaussee de Bruxelles, Jumet, Gosselies, Belgium. June 13, 1934, No. 17499. [Class 103 (ii)] [See also Group XXXIII] A wind or like screen for the cockpit of an aircraft, motor-boat, motor-cycle sidecar, &c., comprises a fixed portion arched across the cockpit and a movable portion rearwardly thereof, the movable. portion being arched transversely, sectoral in side elevation, and pivoted on a transverse axis so that when its rear part is raised its front part is projected into the fixed portion. In the construction shown the screen is composed of the movable portion pivoted on a transverse axis m and consisting of panels j, k, fixed portions consisting of panels band c, and an intermediate portion consisting of five panels d, d<1>, e, f, g, h, h<1> four of which form a rigid unit hinged to the fixed remaining panel h, h<1> so that the unit can be raised transversely to give access to the front of the cockpit. Some or all of the panels of the intermediate portion may be hinged to one another instead of forming a rigid unit. The end panels d, d<1> and h, h<1> have sliding sections d, h.
