Abstract
399,611. Current transformers. BUCHANAN, J. H., Carnethy, South Drive, Timperley, Cheshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. June 13, 1932, No. 16668. [Class 38 (ii).] A current transformer comprises two cores 2, 3 linked by a common primary winding 1 and carrying respectively two secondary windings 4, 5, one of the cores' having also a tertiary winding 6 connected in parallel with the two series-connected secondary windings. Thus fine adjustments in the transformation ratio may be effected by varying the number of turns on' the tertiary winding 6. The two cores may be of materials of different permeability, e.g silicon steel for the core 2, and high permeability nickel-iron alloy for the core 3.
