491,982. Transformers. ROSENFELD, M. April 17, 1937, No. 11036. Convention date, April 18, 1936. [Class 38 (ii)] In a variable reactance transformer, a magnetic shunt 6, movable in a direction perpendicular to plane of the core laminations 1 on which the transformer windings 2, 3 are mounted, forms the core of choke coils 5 associated with the transformer. One choke having a shell-type core may be associated with a transformer of core-type, or two chokes on a core-type core may be associated with a shell-type transformer.
