Abstract

540,456. Transformers. WALTERS & SON, Ltd., A., and MULLER, H. April 17, 1940, No. 6900. [Class 38 (ii)] A self-regulating transformer comprises a shelltype core with primary and secondary windings i, j on the centre limb and controlling windings c, d on opposite sides thereof. The controlling windings may be connected in opposition in either series or parallel with each other and in series with either the primary or secondary. In modified arrangements, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), each controlling winding is divided into two sections arranged one on each part of the slotted yoke.
