Abstract
398,828. Vehicle windows. BISHOP, W. H., 48, Moor Street, Birmingham. Feb. 13, 1932, Nos. 4305 and 12461. [Class 20 (iii).] A panel of a vehicle or other window, ventilator or the like, is slidably pivoted, adjacent to a fixed or vertically sliding panel, to the frame at one end and connected thereto by links d at the opposite end, so as to swing and slide simultaneously. The pivot of the link d is spring-actuated to close the window and is locked in any adjusted position by a concealed pawl m, and ratchet k, Fig. 4, on the spindle. Pressure on the knob n releases the pawl and allows the window to close. In a modification, a vertically movable screen is carried on vertically sliding pivots at the lower end and connected to the frame at the opposite end by links slidably pivoted in the frame. When closed, a flange on the frame of the panels abuts against packing on the body.
