Abstract
367,552. Friction pivots. BROWN, W. C., 41, Studfield Crescent, Wisewood, and TWIDALE, R. B. C., Gatefield, Abbeydale Road, both in Sheffield. Feb. 13, 1931, No. 4510. [Class 65 (ii).] A friction pivot for windows comprises a member having a circular recess with one or two leaf springs anchored at each end on the wall of the recess, and a second member having a boss fitting in the recess. The boss preferably has two flat sides, as shown at d in Fig .7, so that it normally lies between the springs f without distorting them, but on any movement of the window, the springs, are distorted to create the necessary pressure to hold the window in position. A central projection is provided in the recess to engage in a hole in the boss to maintain it in position ; the parts may be connected by a central screw.
