Abstract
396,099. Spray-producers. DOBBIN, J. C., 26, Sherland Road, Twickenham, Middlesex. Jan. 30, 1932, No. 2865. [Class 69 (iii).] A spray burner comprises a casing 1 having an internal bore tapering at one end to a flat surface 1 formed with a discharge orifice 2, a central piece 3 formed with four longitudinal air passages 4 and an axial oil passage 5, and a locking ring 9 which holds the central piece 3 with its front end in contact with the surface 1. The front end of the piece 3 is reduced in diameter and is formed with four slots 8 arranged tangentially to the passage 5 so that the oil passing from the passage 5 to the orifice 2 will be atomized by the air discharged through the slots 8. In a modified construction the central piece 3 is held in contact with the surface 1<1> by a spring.
