Abstract
702,770. Liquid-fuel burners. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. April 9, 1952 [April 16, 1951], No. 8778/51. Class 75 (1) In a liquid-fuel injection nozzle of the spill type the fuel passes from the swirl chamber f to the return pipe b through helically or otherwise curved peripheral passages n in a plug m fitting in a central aperture in a place c at the rear end of the swirl chamber f. To prevent the passage of air into the return pipe b the plug m has a forwardly extending axial projection o determining the position of the inner end of the air core formed in the swirlling fuel in the chamber f. The fuel is introduced into the chamber f through holes j in the plate c, holes i in a plate d, and swirl passages k.
