Abstract

394,916. Making screw-stoppers. SCOVILL MANUFACTURING CO., 99, Mill Street, Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.A. Feb. 13, 1933, No. 4345. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1932. [Class 83 (ii).] A screw-stopper for bottles &c. comprises a top portion and a skirt, the upper portion of the skirt wall being thicker than the lower portion, and a plurality of internal thread-engaging lugs formed from tongues shaved from the inner surface of the thicker portion of the cap skirt. As shown, the lugs are rolled up to form beads 18 positioned at progressively increasing distances from the lower edge of the cap in accordance with the pitch line of the thread on the bottle &c. neck.
