Abstract

391,956. Railway wagons. NEDDERMEYER, O., Wabern, Cassel, Germany. March 14, 1932, No. 7563. Convention date, Jan. 27. [Class 103 (iv).] A wagon 1 employed for removing and replacing railway-track ballast has an underframe 2 carrying a wedge-shaped dragscoop 3 and a conveyer 7 and runs on wheels 12 carried by uprights 42 relative to which the corners of the wagon may be raised or lowered by rack-and-pinion mechanism 45, 46, the uprights being secured as by pins passing through the uprights and their supporting brackets. The haulage cable 4 of the wagon is connected to a block 37, or to a bar slidable therethrough, the block being slidable in guides 36 by a cable connected to a winch on the wagon, to adjust the point of application of the cable. The block, or the slidable bar, carries a pulley 5 round which passes a cable 35 connected at its ends to opposite sides of the wagon.
