Abstract

482,682. Rope railways. KING, D. M. Jan. 22, 1937, No. 1963. [Class 104 (ii)] In a conveyer of the kind in which trolleys are moved along a track 10 by a driving chain running on rails 11 and engaging the trolleys by means of depending abutments, the track 10 has one or more drop sections 13 for unloading &c. the trolleys, and adjacent such sections the rails 11 are bent upwards as shown in Fig. 1 to disengage the driving abutments temporarily from the trolleys during their passage over a portion only of each section. The drop sections 13 may be supported by brackets 14 carrying sheaves 18, 20 over which run ropes &c. 15, which pass over sheaves 17, 19, 21, and are connected to a winding drum 16. The sheaves 17, 19, 21 are supported by brackets 23 mounted on girders 25.
