Plant for relaying track. -Apparatus for displacing rails laterally cornprises a frame 1 with clamps 2, 3 for gripping the rails and a jack for slewing the frame and track. The frame carries a. carriage 8 with bearings 14 for the bars 13 of a a jack having at one end a foot 15 and at the other end a. housing 16 for the raising and lowering gear. This gear engages a rack 17 secured to the carriage 8 which carries slewing-gear engaging a rack 12 on the frame 1. The frame may have wheels for transportation and the clamps, when raised, are clear of the rails. The racks may be replaced by screws, the clamps may be in the form of scissors, and the movements may be effected by one or more engines.
