Abstract

385,727. Drying textile skeins. GOUBILLON, GANEVAL, ET ST. GENIS, 29, Rue Bellecombe, Lyons, France. Dec. 9, 1931, No. 34164. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1930. [Class 34 (ii).] Textile skeins are dried while supported radially or obliquely on pairs of rollers 22, 9 carried by a rotary plate 8 on a shaft 5, being stretched by the action of centrifugal force. The rotation of the skeins produces a circulation of air from the central inlet 36 of the volute-shaped casing 44 to a tangential outflow. During rotation, declutchable gearing 18, 21, 20, 17, 11 rotates the rollers 9, which are connected by a common band 12, so that the skeins travel round the rollers 9, 22. The rollers 22 are mounted in the plate 8 either slidably, or eccentrically, on pins 25, and have tails 26 which strike an adjustable bar at the bottom of the casing. As the tails 26 escape from the bar, the skeins are periodically shaken. The incoming air is heated by steam &c. radiators 39 ; some of the heat may be recuperated. A brake comprising blocks 28 mounted on a hand-operated double screw 29 is provided.
