Abstract
375,543. Hand-trucks. TRIGGS; W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Yale & Towne Manufacturing Co.; Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A.) June 22, 1931, No. 18003.. [Class 108 (i).] In lifting trucks in which the platform is elevated by a steering. and lifting handle connected to the platform by a link arranged in two parts pivoted together so that during the initial part of the lifting the first part of the link pivots freely on the handle but is held rigid relatively thereto during the latter part of the lifting, one of the link parts is pivotally mounted on the handle so as to be rotatable therewith during the steering operation of the handle. The link comprises a part 15 pivoted to the handle at 16 and a part 24 connecting to the platform 2 and pivoted to the part 15 at 26. With the handle 10 in vertical position the part 15 is positioned as shown in Fig. 3 by stops 12, 17, 18, 19 and the part 24 is adapted to be engaged with the part 23 on the platform 2 by a pedal 27. During the first part of the lift the part 15 can move relatively to the handle 10 about the pivot 16 but when the surfaces 20, 21 on the part 15 and handle 10 respectively contact the part 15 remains in fixed angular relation to the handle 10 during the remainder of the lift. A latch is provided to retain the platform in its elevated position. Surfaces 12, 17 and 13, 14 serve to limit the upper and lower positions of the handle 10.
