Abstract

224,356. Burgess, S. Oct. 15, 1923. Lifting-cradles.-A cradle for lifting black plates &c. of the type comprising a base 4, upright 5, and overhanging member 11 arranged so that the cradle tilts inwardly when suspended, is provided with improved clamping means for engaging the load. The clamping member 8, 9 is pivotally connected with a lever 7 pivoted at 6 on the member 11, and the lever is secured in the clamping position by means such as a peg, not shown. The base 4 may be E-shaped with uprights 10 at the corners and ends.
