374,381. Discharge apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Dec. 24, 1931, No. 35691. Convention date, Jan. 3. [Class 39 (i).] An anode, particularly for a rectifier, surrounds the cathode and is constituted partly by a metal plate and partly by a grid, which forms a window for the heat radiated by the cathode, the other parts of the tube being arranged to avoid covering the window. Two plates 5, having gauze windows 13, are welded together at flanges 6 and supported on wires 3, 4. A glass rod 7, mounted on the wires, supports a spring 8 tensioning an oxide cathode 9.
