Abstract

371,416. Machine guns. BIRMING- HAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., NORMAN, G., and WYKES, C. C., Armoury Road, Small Heath, Birmingham. Jan. 22, 1931, No. 29203. Divided on 371,410. [Class 92 (ii).] Relates to double-barrelled gas-operated machine guns having a single breech-body 1 and independent breech mechanisms whereby the barrels may be discharged either separately or together, and consists in providing separate detachable pistol grips, each having an inclined part 2a pivotally carrying a trigger 4, a depending handle 8, and a chamber 9 for receiving the return spring 10 and adjusting means therefor. The pistol grips are shown provided with lugs 3 for effecting a bayonet-joint attachment to the breech-body, the triggers 4 engage horizontallymovable sears 7, and the return springs each bear against a nut 14 adjustably mounted on a screw 13 the end 17 of which is adapted for bayonet-joint attachment within a recess in the rear of the casing 9.
