Abstract
360,111. Saddle e supports. REYNOLDS, G. H. N., 69, Albert Road, Victoria Road, Romford, Essex. July 7, 1931, No. 26902/30. [Class 136 (iii).] An adjustable saddle pillar of the type adapted to enable the saddle to be locked in either a raised or a lowered position comprises an outer tube B open at both ends and adapted to be clamped in the frame tube A, and an inner saddlecarrying tube D having an upper abutment E for a helical spring F tending to raise the tube D to its upper position (as shown), the lower end of the spring F resting on an abutment F<1> carried by a transverse pin F<2>, which is fixed to the outer tube B and passes through slots D<2> in the inner tube D, so that the latter can slide but not rotate in the outer tube B. The tube D is held in its raised or lowered position by means of a spring-pressed locking-pin H, arranged to engage holes D<3> D4 and controlled by Bowden &c. mechanism H<1>.
