Abstract
354,839. Vehicle windows. BIGGS, F., 57, Tavistock Crescent, Notting Hill, London, and LOWE, BEVAN, & CO., Ltd., Clarence Works, Scotland Street, Parade, Birmingham. May 17, 1930, No. 15200. [Class 20 (iii).] A pivoted flap in a sliding vehicle-window particularly for hand signalling is adapted to be automatically closed on opening the sliding panel by means of fixed abutments o which engage the channel members d of the flap and pivot same into the plane of the sash during opening movement. Spring-pressed bolts p in the abutment o retard the sash during opening by engaging stops q on the vertical stile f, these bolts being forced back by the stile of the pivoted flap c to allow the sliding movement to continue. The pivoted sash is retained in the open or closed position by springs enclosed in telescopic barrels m. The sliding stiles f have ribs sliding in felt-lined channels. Specification 301,590, [Class 20 (iii), Doors &c.l, is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
