Convention date, Feb. 5, 1930. [Class 12 (i).] A ball bearing 12 having its outer race ring 14 clamped be. tween two end covers 15, 16, and slidably mounted in a housing 13 has resilient means interposed between the cover 16 and the heads of the bolts 18 holding the covers together. The bolts 18 have a shoulder 20 engaging the cover 15 the arrangement being such that distortion of the covers is prevented during assembly. The resilient means preferably takes the form of a leaf-spring 19. The bearing arrangement is particularly applicable to the motor shaft 11 of a vacuum cleaner.
