Abstract

347,283. Boot &c. heels and protectors. KOEHLER, P., 9B, Michael Lofmansgatan, Helsingborg, Sweden. Jan. 27, 1930, No. 2774. [Classes 17 (ii) and 17 (iii).] A boot or shoe is provided with a rubber heel portion 1, Fig. 2, made in one piece and formed with one or more sockets 2 which provide a cushioning effect. When the tread portion becomes worn, it is levelled off by cutting away the remainder of the portion shown dotted, and a separate and supplementary wearing pad 6 is attached by engaging projections 7 thereon in the sockets 2. The pad 6 and heel portion 1 may be vulcanized together around the peripheral portions 4, 5, Fig. 2, or other connecting means may be provided.
