Abstract

344,253. Doubling or twisting spindleapparatus. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. March 26, 1930, No. 9632. Convention date, May 2, 1929. [Class 120 (ii).] A bobbin-holder for use in high-speed doubling or twisting frames, more particularly adapted for bobbins having a diameter of at least 70 mms. as used in the production of artificial silk, comprises a cylindrical portion 2 which is of slightly smaller diameter than the internal diameter of the bobbin and projects more than half-way into the bobbin. An extensible ring 5, e.g. a rubber ring, which expands under centrifugal force and prevents the bobbin from flying off, may be fitted in an annular groove 4. The inner hub 3 fits on to the spindle.
