[Class 9 (ii).] Diethylene glycol dinitrate, obtained as described in Specification 341,456, is used to the extent of not more than 20 to 25 per cent to gelatinize nitrocellulose to produce a smokeless propellant. Other solvents such as acetone and ether-alcohol may be added ; but these are removed after the explosive has been made into grains. strips or cords. The explosive may include other ingredients such as nitroglycerine, ethylene glycol dinitrate, vaseline.
