[Class 20 (ii).] A scaffold clamp has the pivoted clamping part provided with a bifurcated projection d on its outer end adapted to receive the pivoted clamping bolt n attached to the other clamping part and to bear upon the body clamped with a tangential binding movement in the clamping operation. In one form of clamp, Fig. 2, the clamping members a and b are pivoted for relative rotation and a pivoted clamping cheek h is provided in the member b so that when the bodies are clamped by the clamping parts a<1>, b<1>, the members of the clamp are also locked against relative rotation. In another form the grooved clamping members are formed integrally without relative adjustment, while in still another form for clamping bodies together in axial alignment the clamping part q is provided with two pivoted clamping parts p each provided with the bifurcated projections d. The nuts used in clamping are provided with depending apron portions engaging the bolt threads.
