Abstract

332,179. Spiess, G. Dec. 31, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 271,849. Sheet-separators.-In a sheet-feeding device as described in the parent Specification in which the sheets are separated by suction nozzles 7 movable up and down relatively to a swinging carrier, separation of the sheets is assisted by an adjustable resilient brush 14 on the carrier. The brush 14 is arranged to engage in part over the top edge of the pile, and in part to act on the side of the pile, so that the first set of hairs or bristles acts to prevent the feeding of two sheets at a time by sweeping past the edges of the sheets and preventing the lower sheets from sticking to the top sheet, and the second set of bristles loosens the upper sheets of the pile and so facilitates separation of the top sheet only.
