Abstract
1,244,280. Feeding sheets. HEIDELBERGER DRUCKMASCHINEN A.G. 25 Nov., 1969 [23 Dec., 1968], No. 57621/69. Heading B8R. A device for stripping-off sheets adhering to a sheet separated from the top of a pile of sheets 3 by suction separators 16, comprises an arm 6 on which is detachably mounted a cap 7 provided with a resilient stripper tongue or tongues 13 extending over the pile. As shown, the parts 7, 13 are formed of rubber or plastic material, and the part 7 has a cavity at 9 to fit over the arm 6. Each stripper is actuated in a recess between nozzles 12<SP>1</SP> of a blower 12. The height of the stripper can be adjusted by replacement of one cap 7 by another of different vertical length or by means of a screw-and-slot connection between the arm 6 and a bar 1 to which are also attached bars 2 aligning the front edge of the pile. In modifications the underside of the tongue 13 may be roughened by the provision of studs or serrations thereon (Fig. 4) the tongue may be slotted to form separate fingers (Fig. 5), or it may consist of an L-shaped leaf spring (Fig. 7) one limb of which is embedded in the cap, moreover, the tongue may be formed of bristles (Fig. 6). Different adjustments of the height of the tongue or different types of tongue may be used according to the type of sheets being fed.
