Abstract
330,300. General Electric Co., Ltd., Saunders, C. W., Wilson, H. W., and Emms, S. A. G. March 6, 1929. Selective distant control systems.-A control storage device is arranged so that closure of buttons 218 for starting corresponding electric motors cause the motors to be started in succession by a common starting means, the control for any motor being stored until the starting means is available. Closure of any button 218 energizes a contactor 216 which maintains itself over contacts 222 and causes a solenoid 204 to ratchet an arm 207 over contacts 208 until it engages one that is connected to a closed contactor 216, whereupon a relay 212 is energized to open the circuit of solenoid 204 and a relay 232 is energized to close contacts that effect connection of the corresponding motor to the common starting means as soon as it is available. When this occurs interlocks associated with that motor interrupt the maintaining circuit of the contact or 216, which thereupon opens and de-energizes relays 212, 232, closing of the contacts of the former allows the arm 207 to proceed to another stud 208 if any other contactor 216 is closed, and subsequently the corresponding motor is connected to the common starting means when it becomes available.
