Cut-out arrangements. - A gate-end switch similar to that described in Specification 262,553 is controlled over a pilot circuit by a pilot switch handle 60 located on the casing 20 of the motor. When the handle 60 is moved to the off " position a circuit is completed from power conductor 22 through coil 123, switch 128, casing 20, switch 70 to power conductor 23. If the circuit interrupter has failed to open, the coil 123 will be energized and cause a detent 127 to enter a hole 128 and so prevent further movement of the handle 60, until the circuit interrupter is opened manually. In a modification, the switch 124 completes a short circuit between the power conductors through a current limiting resistance, and so causes energization of a relay 7, which through other relays opens the circuit of the coil holding the circuit interrupter closed. The system is applicable to the control of a power supply having no earthed neutral point.
