Abstract

329,715. Mouchel & Partners, Ltd., L. G., and Gerard, M. E. Feb. 26, 1929. Cooling-towers.-A cooling-tower of timber is of hyperboloidal shape, and composed of posts a lying in the surface and secured together and to polygonal horizontal members e at the points where they cross. The horizontal members may be rolled-steel channel sections. The posts fit into metal shoes b anchored by bolts c to concrete foundations, and may consist of several lengths scarfed together as at d. The structure is completed by boards f nailed to the posts, the joints being covered by strips g. The water distributing arrangements may be as described in Specifications 271,320 or 271,370.
