Abstract

235,713. Fleming, J. G., and Edgar, D. K. June 18, 1924. Portable buildings. - A portable building of the kind formed of a plurality of arched sections adapted to be secured together by purlins and ties and braces, each arched section comprising a plurality of members hinged together, is characterised by forming each arched section of semi-octagonal shape comprising two members hinged together at the apex. Each member is formed of two parts a, b hinged together at c and stays d, e, are provided at the hinged joints. S-shaped clips h for supporting the corrugated metal or other covering are carried by the purlins. Each member may be used independently to form bivouacs. By inserting a further side of the octagon a larger building with vertical sides may be formed.
