Abstract

323,626. Evans & Sons (Wolverhampton), Ltd., J., and Kinnersley, H. L. Dec. 19, 1928. Lift valves.-A plunger or lift valve D which forms a fit in the bore E is guided by a rod G passing through a stuffing-box H. The valve D has an inclined hole e and is moved backwards and forwards by a trigger lever K having a tooth J engaging a notch g. When in the position shown water flows freely to the nozzle C to produce a jet. When the trigger is pulled the plate D enters the chamber and water passes through the hole e to form a diffusion spray. On further pulling the trigger lever K, a projection d closes the orifice C.
