321,529. Wellman Seaver Rolling Mill Co., Ltd., and Smith, S. Oct.. 19, 1928. Rolling tubes.-In making a tube by pushing a hollow billet through successively decreasing roll-passes while supported on a mandrel, the sets of two or more rolls, forming the passes, are arranged in close proximity and with the axis of each roll 15 of one set at an angle to the axes of the rolls 15<1> of the adjacent or other sets. The rolls 15, 15<1> are mounted, by means of roller bearings, in housing 18, built up of L-shaped units, and secured on opposite sides of a ring 13 which is held in a groove 12 by a saddle 14.
