Air, supplying.-In a boiler furnace provided with a travelling grate, the air for combustion is passed through the tubes 24 of a primary air heater, heated by waste gases, and then divided into two parts, one part being led through the conduit 30 to ports 13 delivering below the fuel on the middle and rear portions of the grate while the other part is led through a secondary air heater 27 arranged between the passes of the boiler, where it is further heated, and thence through conduits 31, 32 to ports 12 delivering below the fuel on front portion of the grate.
