Abstract
377,431. Steam generator furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. and GREGSON, W., Babcock House, Farringdon Street, London. July 25, 1931, No. 21282. [Class 51 (i).] In a steam-power plant, particularly for marine use, comprising a steam generator 9 providing steam for operating the main driving machinery 10 and one or more Diesel or like combustion engines 1 for driving the auxiliaries, the exhaust gases of the Diesel engines are utilized in a heat exchanger 4 for heating air which is supplied through a conduit 8 to the furnace of the boiler 9. A byepass 6 may be provided to permit the waste gases to pass, if desired, direct to the outlet flue 5.
