Abstract

234,923. Owen, W. H. March 12, 1924, Dampers for controlling superheaters. - A boiler of the kind comprising a cylindrical shell A with one or more furnace flues B, and steam generating tubes C so arranged behind and spaced away from the shell as to form a combustion chamber E. from which the gases pass through the tubes to a smokebox F, is provided with a steam superheater or air heater or both. Dampers are provided for regulating the passage of gases through a superheater fitted in the smoke-box.
