Abstract
313,633. Molins, W. E. Dec. 14, 1927. Cigarette-making machines.-Tobacco placed in the hopper 1 is fed by the roller 2, combed by the carded roller 3, and passes beneath the brushing roller 4. It is then picked off by the roller 5 and falls on the distributing roller 6. Its uniformity is improved by passage beneath a carded levelling roller 13 rotating in an opposite direction to the roller 6, and one or more pressure rollers 12, 14. The distributing and leveling rollers may be duplicated; and the distributor may take the form of a continuous band. The speeds of the later rollers in the series should be adjusted so as to maintain a reserve of tobacco above the roller 6. Specification 249,575 is referred to.
